Introducing the Vallimonts

We are just your run of the mill family of four. Well, that might not be completely true. We try to live life to the fullest and always do things just a tiny bit different, even when we have no clue what we are doing. We call Charlotte, NC home but have come from all different parts of the country. I was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama; Josh grew up in the suburbs of Pittsburgh; and the kids were born in Salt Lake City, Utah.

You can learn more about me in the Me section. Josh and I met snowboarding at Penn State and got married after I graduated. We immediately moved to Los Angeles where we both worked for several years before moving to Charlotte to be close to family on the East Coast. Josh is a Project Executive for a national general contractor, DPR Construction. That means we should be really good at DIY projects, right?

After struggling with infertility, Josh and I adopted Holden in 2009, followed by Rory thirteen months later. (She loves telling people that her mom had an unnatural obsession with the Gilmore Girls when she was younger.) The children are full biological siblings. Race and adoption are major parts of our lives and something we are not only proud of, but discuss openly.

When we aren't buying tiny homes off of Craigslist, or fumbling through another project, we keep pretty busy. Holden is quite the soccer player and Rory is determined to create a new sport out of the combination of tumbling and hip hop dance. We are a huge dog family and spoil our two dogs - Four (1.5 year old Bernedoodle) and Tuck (5 month old beast) - way too much. We've spent lots of money on training for them only to have them eat every piece of toilet paper in our home on a daily basis.

I look forward to sharing some of the really honest parts of my life with you here.
